Charity Event Allows People to Drive Their Cars Around Las Vegas Motor Speedway

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – The Las Vegas Motor Speedway announced that it will once again host its “Laps for Charity” event.

According to a press release, the event’s proceeds will assist the Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities. The event will begin at 8 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 29th, at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

According to organizers, NASCAR fans and automotive lovers will be able to drive their personal vehicles around the 1.5-mile speedway at speeds of up to 75 miles per hour as part of the event (behind a pace car).

Fans are invited to “experience the thrill of a lifetime,” by driving their car, truck, motorcycle or other street-legal vehicles on the same track as their favorite NASCAR drivers, organizers say.

According to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the “Laps for Charity” event is available to all licensed drivers 18 and older.

The Car Club admission cost is $65 per car for five continuous laps between 8 a.m. and noon, according to the statement. till 12 p.m. (Car club presidents must call SCC to coordinate their club’s arrival time.) All VIP Concierge entrance costs are $100 per car for seven consecutive laps between 12:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The general admission entry cost is $75 per vehicle for five continuous laps between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. and 4 p.m., according to the announcement.

According to the venue, all cars must be street legal, and drivers must have a valid license. Car clubs and corporate fleets are welcome to participate. According to the announcement, all vehicle occupants must be at least six years old.
