Man Charged With Murder After Shooting & Killing His Roommate In Sun Valley

NEVADA – Saturday night in Sun Valley, a man is said to have shot and killed his roommate. He is currently being held on suspicion of open murder.
On February 11 at around 7 o’clock in the evening, deputies from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 4600 block of E. Leonesio Drive, where a gunshot had reportedly taken place.
A man had been shot and was found by police, but he subsequently died at a hospital.
After an investigation, authorities identified the deceased man as Billy Orth, 29, the roommate he had shot to death inside the residence.
No public safety danger has been identified, and the police have not disclosed a possible motive for the shooting.
After the roommate’s family has been informed, his identity will be revealed.
