A 19-year-old motorcyclist died Thursday night after a collision with a car at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Bruce Street in North Las Vegas.
Investigators said the crash occurred just before midnight when the driver of a late 2000s white Ford Escort, traveling southbound on Las Vegas Boulevard, attempted to turn left onto Bruce Street. The motorcyclist, a 19-year-old male traveling northbound on Las Vegas Boulevard in a designated storage lane, collided with the car.
According to police, the motorcyclist was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. He was transported to University Medical Center where he later died. The driver of the Escort was not injured.
While traffic officers believe speed and impairment were not factors in the crash, they reported the motorcyclist did not appear to have a motorcycle endorsement.
The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
Anyone with information regarding the collision is urged to contact the North Las Vegas Police Department at 702-633-9111. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or visit their website at www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
