Authorities Investigate Deadly Shooting East of Downtown Las Vegas Monday

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Monday morning east of downtown Las Vegas.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 5:28 AM in the 2000 block of Peyton Drive, near Charleston Boulevard and Eastern Avenue. Upon arrival, they found a person inside a home suffering from gunshot wounds. Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the individual deceased at the scene.

While the investigation remains ongoing, LVMPD has detained several people believed to be involved in the shooting. It’s unclear at this time whether any of those detained are considered suspects or if any charges are pending.

The scene remains active as police continue their investigation.
