Las Vegas Sizzles Under Extended Excessive Heat Warning
By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, July 8, 2024 2:26 pm
Las Vegas residents can expect another sweltering week as the National Weather Service extends its excessive heat warning through Friday evening.
Temperatures across the Las Vegas Valley, Pahrump, and Barstow, California, are forecast to range from a scorching 110 degrees to a staggering 118 degrees.
Death Valley National Park, where a motorcyclist tragically died over the weekend, is anticipated to experience even more extreme heat, with temperatures reaching a potential 122 to 129 degrees.
This extension comes after Las Vegas shattered its all-time record high temperature on Sunday, with Harry Reid International Airport recording a blistering 120 degrees.
Stay cool, Las Vegas! We’ll continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
