On Friday evening in Henderson, a police officer fatally shot a dog that advanced toward them while the officer was responding to a welfare check, authorities confirmed. The incident occurred on the 200 block of Patti Ann Woods Drive at approximately 8 p.m., when law enforcement was dispatched to the residence for a check on the well-being of its occupants. As the officer engaged at the scene, the dog charged, prompting the officer to discharge their weapon.
