TRUMP TORCHES TERRORISTS: MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD FINALLY GETS THE AXE

By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, November 26, 2025 6:00 pm

President Donald J. Trump once again reminded the world that America is done tip-toeing around threats to our national security. In a historic move, the administration officially designated several chapters of the Muslim Brotherhood as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) and Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs). It’s a long-overdue step many past administrations were too politically timid to confront and it sends a clear message: the United States will no longer play host to extremist networks hiding behind nonprofit labels and academic jargon.

For decades, intelligence officials and Middle Eastern allies have warned that elements of the Muslim Brotherhood serve as ideological incubators for radicalization across the globe. While Democrats in Washington spent years running interference, worried more about political correctness than homeland security, the Trump Administration decided to act.

And the timing couldn’t be more urgent. According to the designation, U.S. agencies had confirmed that specific Brotherhood chapters were funneling funds, sharing resources, and offering operational support to violent extremist groups abroad. That’s not “cultural outreach.” That’s terrorism, plain and simple.

Here in Nevada, where military families, veterans, and law-enforcement officers form the backbone of our communities, the response has been clear: national security still matters. While Washington Democrats bury their heads in the sand, the people of Nevada understand that turning a blind eye to extremism has real-world consequences from the recruitment of young Americans online to the financing of overseas attacks that ultimately target our own allies.

The Trump Administration’s action shuts down these networks’ access to U.S. financial systems, restricts their ability to move money through shell nonprofits, and gives federal law enforcement sharper tools to identify and dismantle domestic support infrastructure. This isn’t symbolism. It’s hard policy backed by intelligence, and it represents a return to the common-sense doctrine that defending Americans comes before protecting anyone’s political sensitivities.

Nevada’s Democratic delegation has been conspicuously quiet so far,  no statements, no acknowledgment, no support. That silence says it all. Dina Titus, Susie Lee, and Steven Horsford spent the last four years parroting D.C.’s soft-on-security talking points, and now they can’t bring themselves to applaud the most significant national security designation in over a decade.

This is the contrast heading into 2026: Republicans are focused on keeping Americans safe. Democrats are busy keeping themselves comfortable.

Nevadans deserve leaders who take threats seriously. President Trump just proved, once again,  that he does.
