Nevada GOP, Governor Lombardo Issue Statements In Support Of Texas Over Defense of Southern Border

Although the Supreme Court, in a 5-4 ruling, weighed in on behalf of the Biden Administration’s efforts to block the Texas National Guard from erecting razor wire at the U.S.-Mexico border, thereby allowing Border Control agents to remove the wire, Governor Greg Abbott defied the Supreme Court’s ruling citing his constitutional authority to defend the border against an invasion. In a statement, Abbott said, “President Biden has refused to enforce [immigration] laws and has even violated them.”

“That authority is the supreme law of the land and supersedes any federal statutes to the contrary. The Texas National Guard, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and other Texas personnel are acting on that authority, as well as state law, to secure the Texas border,” Abbott claimed.

In response to Abbott’s defiance, Texas Democratic Representatives Joaquin Castro and Greg Casar has called on President Biden to federalize the Texas National Guard as the battle between the Biden Administration and Governor Abbott intensifies.

In response to the showdown, the Nevada GOP issued a press release declaring its “unwavering support for the State of Texas and Governor Greg Abbott” to defend the Southern border from external threats.

“The Nevada Republican Party proudly declares its unwavering support for the State of Texas and Governor Greg Abbott in their steadfast commitment to defend the Southern border from invasion. Recognizing the crucial need to protect borders from threats, both foreign and domestic. Nevada Republicans stand shoulder to shoulder with Texas in this critical endeavor.

In recent times, the challenges faced by the State of Texas in securing its Southern border have become increasingly apparent. Governor Greg Abbott has taken bold and decisive action to address these challenges head-on, highlighting the importance of safeguarding the state and its residents from any potential harm.

The Nevada Republican Party firmly believes in the fundamental right of states to defend their borders and protect the safety and well-being of their Citizens. Texas, as a sovereign state, deserves the autonomy to enact measures necessary to ensure the security of its borders against external threats.

Nevada Republicans commend Governor Greg Abbott for his leadership and proactive stance in addressing border security concerns. The Party recognizes the significant impact that a secure border has on the overall safety, economic stability, and prosperity of the state.

The Nevada Republican Party urges other states to join with Texas, fostering a united front in the defense of our Nation’s borders.”

Following the Nevada GOP’s statement, Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo (R) and 24 Republican governors issued a joint statement in support of Texas and Governor Abbott, charging that “the Biden Administration continues to attack Texas and refuses to take action or responsibility for the crisis at the Southern border.”

“President Biden and his Administration have left Americans and our country completely vulnerable to unprecedented illegal immigration pouring across the Southern border. Instead of upholding the rule of law and securing the border, the Biden Administration has attacked and sued Texas for stepping up to protect American citizens from historic levels of illegal immigrants, deadly drugs like fentanyl, and terrorists entering our country. 

“We stand in solidarity with our fellow Governor, Greg Abbott, and the State of Texas in utilizing every tool and strategy, including razor wire fences, to secure the border. We do it in part because the Biden Administration is refusing to enforce immigration laws already on the books and is illegally allowing mass parole across America of migrants who entered our country illegally. 

“The authors of the U.S. Constitution made clear that in times like this, states have a right of self-defense, under Article 4, Section 4 and Article 1, Section 10, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution. Because the Biden Administration has abdicated its constitutional compact duties to the states, Texas has every legal justification to protect the sovereignty of our states and our nation.”

The “alleged” terrorist warning Americans “Soon you’ll know who I am” appears to be Movsum Samadov, a Muslim who was released in January 2023 after serving 12 years for being a terrorist. Will the democrats voters ever wake up to the invasion at the southern border?

The Biden Administration has not released the numbers of illegal border crossings, apprehensions and “get-aways” since October 2023.  At that time, the data confirmed that a record-breaking 10 million people from over 150 countries have illegally crossed the Southern border, nearly 200 terrorists have been captured, and an estimated 2 million “get-aways” have been recorded since Biden’s inauguration.
