Secretary Linda McMahon Shuts Down TikTok Misinformation Over Nursing Degrees, Exposes Liberal TDS Meltdown

Secretary of Education Linda McMahon didn’t mince words this week and frankly, someone needed to cut through the noise. After days of breathless TikTok theatrics claiming President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill “destroyed nursing degrees” and would plunge hospitals into chaos, McMahon pulled the pin on the hysteria.
She opened with a blunt correction on X: “There’s been a lot of fake news swirling about this administration’s commitment to nurses. Here’s the truth: 95% of nursing programs are UNAFFECTED by @POTUS’ One Big Beautiful Bill grad loan caps.”
In other words: the sky isn’t falling. The Left just desperately wants you to believe it is.
The Department of Education followed with a full Myth vs. Fact sheet explaining in plain English that only a narrow slice of professional programs fall under the new loan cap structure. Traditional nursing pathways? Almost entirely untouched.
But if you’ve opened TikTok lately, you’d think the Administration declared war on scrubs and stethoscopes. Liberal influencers fueled by good old-fashioned Trump Derangement Syndrome rushed to manufacture panic, pushing videos full of shaky-cam despair and half-baked claims about “ending nursing careers.”
Reality, however, isn’t on their side.
Riley Gaines stepped in with the kind of clarity the moment needed, tweeting: “This is simply misinformation. The announcement is about student loans, not nursing professionals. For context, 95% of nursing programs wouldn’t be affected. And for those that are, taking on MORE than $100K in loans shouldn’t fall on taxpayers. Stop fear mongering.”
Exactly. When even Riley Gaines has to come in and do basic myth-busting because TikTok has gone off the rails, you know the discourse has fallen into clown territory.
The Education Department laid out the facts the ones the hysterical videos conveniently skipped:
- Fact: The vast majority of nursing programs aren’t “professional degree” programs under federal statute.
- Fact: Roughly 95% fall completely outside the new graduate loan cap system.
- Fact: Associate and bachelor-level nursing students, the backbone of the healthcare workforce, remain fully unaffected.
- Fact: The bill’s purpose is borrower protection and transparency not dismantling nursing education.
But nuance isn’t exactly viral content. So, the Left defaulted to its favorite pastime: doom posting about Trump before reading the first paragraph of the policy.
McMahon, for her part, continues carrying out President Trump’s commitment to bring sanity, accountability, and state-driven decision-making back into education. That mission terrifies teachers unions, liberal academics, and apparently TikTok creators who treat every policy as the start of the apocalypse.
Expect more online meltdowns. Expect more misinformation. Expect more TDS-fueled outrage content. And expect Linda McMahon, backed by the facts, the statute, and supporters like Riley Gaines, to keep knocking down every myth the Left throws her way.
