Steven Horsford Sides with Far-Left Donor Arrested During Violent LA Riot, Stays Silent as Californians Face Chaos

While Californians were under siege over the weekend as violent riots erupted in Los Angeles, Nevada Democrat Congressman Steven Horsford remained notably silent except to stand behind a far-left SEIU Union leader President, David Huerta and campaign donor who was arrested for impeding law enforcement during the chaos.
Huerta was detained on Friday after reportedly interfering with law enforcement officers as they attempted to disperse illegal immigrant-led riots that turned parts of Los Angeles into a danger zone.
Property was torched, roads were blocked, and everyday Californians were left fearing for their safety as mobs clashed with officers and refused lawful orders to disband.
Instead of standing with law enforcement and the rule of law, Horsford is defending the activist who was arrested while obstructing federal agents in the line of duty. The reason? Observers say it’s simple: campaign money.
According to OpenSecrets since 1990 the SEIU has been the nation’s top organization contributing to federal campaigns, donating $232,694,670, 99 percent of which went to Democrats.
“Democrat Steven Horsford is so out of touch, he stands with criminals and illegal aliens over Nevadans because nothing scares a Democrat more than their campaign coffers drying up,” said NRCC spokesman Christian Martinez. “He’d rather protect his donors than keep Nevadans safe.”
The violence in Los Angeles was reportedly sparked by opposition to recent deportation enforcement actions against illegal immigrants, including individuals convicted of serious crimes—some as severe as murder. Progressive activists took to the streets in protest, but the demonstrations quickly escalated into lawlessness.
Despite the chaos, Horsford remained silent on the rioting and the threat to public safety, issuing no condemnation of the violence or support for law enforcement. Instead, he came to the defense of the arrested activist a longtime political ally who has funneled tens of millions of dollars into Democratic campaigns.
The lack of action from Horsford is drawing increasing scrutiny back home in Nevada, where voters are asking why their representative is prioritizing radical donors and violent agitators over basic public safety.
At a time when Americans are calling for strong leadership, Horsford’s choice to stand with activists who oppose enforcement of immigration laws even when those laws target violent criminals raises questions about his judgment and priorities.
