Trump Unveils America First Resilience Strategy to Strengthen National Security and Critical Infrastructure

By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, June 24, 2026 6:33 am

The White House this week unveiled President Donald Trump’s new America First Resilience Strategy, a sweeping effort designed to strengthen the nation’s ability to withstand natural disasters, cyberattacks, foreign threats, infrastructure disruptions, and other emergencies that could threaten American security and economic stability.

Administration officials say the strategy marks a significant shift away from what they describe as decades of federal overreach and bureaucracy, placing greater emphasis on preparedness, self-sufficiency, critical infrastructure protection, and state-led resilience efforts.

The plan reflects a core belief that has guided much of Trump’s second-term agenda: America must become stronger, more secure, and less dependent on fragile systems that leave the country vulnerable to disruption.

According to the White House, the strategy focuses on protecting critical infrastructure, strengthening emergency preparedness, securing supply chains, improving cybersecurity, and ensuring government agencies are better prepared to respond to emerging threats.

The administration argues the need for such a strategy has become increasingly clear.

In recent years, Americans have witnessed supply chain breakdowns, cyberattacks targeting critical infrastructure, foreign adversaries probing U.S. networks, energy disruptions, natural disasters, and growing concerns about the nation’s ability to respond quickly and effectively during crises.

Rather than simply reacting after problems occur, the White House says the new strategy aims to build resilience before emergencies happen.

Administration officials framed the initiative as an extension of Trump’s broader America First philosophy.

The strategy prioritizes domestic manufacturing, energy independence, secure supply chains, and reducing dependence on foreign countries for critical goods and services.

The White House argues that national resilience begins with national strength.

A country that produces its own energy is more resilient.

A country that manufactures critical goods at home is more resilient.

A country with secure infrastructure and reliable supply chains is more resilient.

And a country that prepares for future threats before they emerge is more resilient.

The strategy also places a significant emphasis on cybersecurity and protecting critical infrastructure from foreign adversaries.

Federal officials have repeatedly warned that countries such as China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea continue targeting American networks, utilities, transportation systems, telecommunications infrastructure, and government agencies.

The administration says resilience in the modern era means being prepared not only for hurricanes and natural disasters but also for cyberattacks, digital disruptions, and economic warfare.

For Nevada, the strategy touches on several key priorities.

The state continues to experience rapid population growth, increasing demands on infrastructure, expanding data center investments, and growing importance within America’s energy and technology sectors.

Nevada’s tourism economy also depends heavily on reliable transportation networks, secure communications systems, stable energy supplies, and resilient infrastructure capable of supporting millions of visitors each year.

The strategy’s focus on domestic energy production may be particularly relevant as Republicans continue arguing that energy independence remains one of the most important components of national resilience.

Administration officials contend that countries dependent on foreign energy sources become vulnerable to global instability, while countries capable of producing their own energy enjoy greater security and economic flexibility.

Supporters of the initiative argue the lessons of the past several years are impossible to ignore.

Supply chain shortages exposed vulnerabilities.

Cyberattacks highlighted weaknesses.

Global conflicts revealed the risks of foreign dependence.

And natural disasters demonstrated the importance of preparation.

The White House believes the answer is not more bureaucracy but a stronger, more resilient America capable of standing on its own.

As the administration continues implementing its broader national security agenda, officials say the America First Resilience Strategy is intended to ensure the country remains prepared for whatever challenges the future may bring.

The message from the White House is straightforward:

America cannot control every threat.

But it can control how prepared it is to meet them.

And under Trump’s new strategy, the administration says that preparation starts now.
