Instagram Influencer’s Home Invaded in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is conducting an investigation into a home invasion targeting Instagram influencer Liziane Gutierrez. The burglars, captured on video, sprayed Gutierrez’s dog with mace and made off with high-end fashion items.

Authorities are exploring the possibility that the victim was specifically targeted by a follower on social media. With over 1.2 million followers, Gutierrez gained attention for her humanitarian work assisting refugees in Ukraine, which was previously covered by FOX5.

During Gutierrez’s absence from her west valley home, the perpetrators broke in. Surveillance footage reveals the men forcefully entering the premises, while Gutierrez’s dog, Duchess, approaches them. Shockingly, one of the intruders repeatedly sprays the dog with mace. Within minutes, the burglars made their way upstairs, stealing luxury bags and jewelry.

Expressing her distress, Gutierrez stated, “They took most everything that I have, but this is nothing compared to what she’s going through. How do you do this to a puppy?” Duchess is currently receiving daily veterinary care and a regimen of medications. Gutierrez hopes that the dog can recover her eyesight and overall well-being.

While it remains uncertain whether the criminals specifically targeted Gutierrez due to her profession or if neighboring houses were also affected, the Las Vegas police’s Summerlin Area Command advises residents to reinforce their home security by utilizing alarms, ensuring all doors and windows are securely locked, and closing blinds when away.

As summer approaches, authorities caution against sharing vacation-related posts on social media until returning home, as it can potentially attract unwanted attention. Gutierrez acknowledged the impact of the incident, saying, “Now everything changed. A lot of people watch us to target us.”

Anyone with information related to the case is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
