Las Vegas, NV – Vice President Kamala Harris is embarking on a month-long nationwide college tour, with a visit to the College of Southern Nevada scheduled for Thursday. The tour aims to mobilize young Americans to champion fundamental freedoms and rights actively.

Harris emphasized the critical role of the younger generation in addressing the pressing issues facing the nation. In a statement, she remarked, “This generation is critical to the urgent issues that are at stake right now for our future. It is young leaders throughout America who know what the solutions look like and are organizing in their communities to make them a reality.”

The “Fight for Our Freedoms College Tour” will encompass visits to a wide array of educational institutions, including community colleges, historically Black colleges and universities, Hispanic-serving institutions, apprenticeship programs, and state schools, all of which are pivotal in shaping the nation’s future.

During her tour, Vice President Harris will underscore the achievements of the Biden-Harris Administration in addressing the concerns of young Americans and outline the Administration’s future plans. Additionally, she will encourage young people to actively engage in the democratic process by registering to vote.

Dr. Federico Zaragoza, President of the College of Southern Nevada, applauded the White House for giving a platform to historically Black colleges and universities and Hispanic-serving institutions. He stated, “I join Vice President Harris in encouraging our young people to get involved in the issues of the day. Nothing is more important than engagement when it comes to ensuring we keep the freedoms we have.”

Vice President Harris’s visit to the College of Southern Nevada is expected to invigorate young leaders and promote their active participation in shaping the nation’s future.
