NEVADA – In 2023, Renown Health and REMSA are happy to bring back inspection stations for car seats.
On Saturday, January 21, at 10 a.m., they had their first event of the year. On February 18, March 25, April 15, May 20, June 17, July 22, and November 18, there will be some more events.
The Point of Impact (POI) car seat inspection program at REMSA Health is working with Renown Health to put on four of the eleven POI community events in 2023.
Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians who are there as volunteers will check how the car seats are used and if they are installed correctly.
These teams will also make sure that each car seat fits your child’s age, height, and weight, as required by Nevada law and as recommended by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
POI is a program that REMSA Health has been running in the community since 1998. The program is run by a REMSA Health employee who teaches and trains volunteers to become Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians who work at community checkpoint events. Each year, volunteers check and install more than 300 car seats correctly.
