Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Launches Investigation into Unidentified Body Found on Dirt Road

NEVADA – An investigation is currently underway after a body was discovered on a dirt extension off North Virginia Street on Thursday evening. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of suspicious activity on a dirt road between Red Rock Road and White Lake Parkway at approximately 6 p.m. on March 23 and found an unidentified body.
Authorities have yet to determine the gender of the deceased individual, and it remains unclear whether foul play is suspected at this time. The sheriff’s office has stated that further information will be released as it becomes available.
For the time being, the dirt extension off North Virginia Street will only be accessible to residential traffic until detectives have completed their investigation. The community is advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or information to the authorities.
