President Trump To Hold ‘Commit To Caucus’ Rally in Reno

President Trump will hold a “Commit to Caucus” rally in Reno, Nevada on December 17 at 2pm at the Reno Sparks Convention Center. This marks former President Trump’s first visit to Northern Nevada since he announced his re-election campaign. Tickets for the event can be found here.

The former president was the first GOP presidential candidate to commit to the First in the West caucus and will appear on the caucus ballot with Chris Christie, Ron DeSantis, and Vivek Ramaswamy. Doug Burgum recently dropped out of the race. The caucus will be held no February 8, 2024. Nikki Haley, along with former presidential candidates Mike Pence and Tim Scott, will appear on the ballot in the state-run primary held February 6, 2024. Delegates will only be awarded to the candidates who participate in the caucus.

Nevada Republicans have participated in caucus primaries since 1980 and maintain that it is the purest form of voter participation and election integrity as the caucus will require identification to vote and will release the results from each precinct that evening– as opposed to a state-run presidential primary which is estimated to cost $5 million and will include universal mail balloting and delayed election results.

Recent polls show Trump with a commanding double-digit lead over President Joe Biden in the Silver State. In 2020, Trump lost Nevada to Biden by a narrow 2.39 percent, improving from 2.45 percent loss to Hillary Clinton in 2016.

However, Biden and Bidenomics is not popular with Silver State voters.

Recent polling shows that only 38 percent of Nevada voters indicate that they approve of the job that Biden is doing while a majority of the electorate – 53 percent – disapprove of the job he is doing. Almost half of the electorate (46 percent) “strongly” disapprove of Biden.

A poll released by Siena College Research Institute and The New York Times reveals that a majority of swing state voters believe Biden, 80, is “too old” and mentally unfit to do the job. If a Democrat other than Biden runs against Trump, the Democrat leads in all six swing states.

Digging into the data spells trouble for Biden in the Silver State with two of the largest, and growing, voting demographics: Hispanics and independents.

44 percent of Hispanics and 50 percent of independents say there is “not really any chance” they would vote for Biden. 39 percent of Hispanic respondents and 53 percent independents strongly disapprove of the job Biden is doing and 38 percent of Hispanics, compared to 44 percent of independents, have an unfavorable opinion of Biden.

Adding to these concerns is inflation.

As reported by The Globe, the average Nevadan household must spend an additional $13,296 annually just to maintain the same standard of living they enjoyed in January of 2021, right before inflation soared to 40-year highs, according to a recent analysis of government data.

To break it down further, Bidenflation adds up to an ongoing extra $1,108 monthly cost per Nevada household. Nevadans are spending an additional $146 on food, $237 on shelter, and $324 on energy costs than they were since Biden took office.

In May 2022, The Globe reported that Nevadan household were hit the hardest by inflation. At that time, Nevadans were paying an additional $8,231 annually for basic household expenses. The increase in monthly costs for average Nevada households were as follows: Food: $70; Shelter: $113; Transportation: $306; Energy: $175.

Based on these recent estimates, Nevadans have nearly doubled their monthly expenses in just one year.
