Out of Touch and Out of Allies: Susie Lee Faces Democratic Revolt
By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, October 2, 2025 6:00 am
Democrat Susie Lee is so weak she can’t even keep her own party together. After years of portraying herself as a political survivor, Lee is now staring down the kind of challenge every vulnerable politician dreads: a fight from within her own party.
Democrat Sean William Hutchinson has officially jumped into the race, signaling that even Democrats in Nevada see Lee as vulnerable.
Instead of uniting her party, Lee is watching it fracture before her eyes, proof that her grip on political power is slipping fast.
Lee has long marketed herself as a moderate voice who can hold together a diverse district. But if that were true, her fellow Democrats wouldn’t be lining up to take her out. The reality is clear: Lee has spent more time protecting her own career than protecting Nevada’s working families, and now her allies are abandoning ship.
In a state where elections are won on razor-thin margins, even whispers of discontent can spell disaster. For Lee, the problem isn’t whispers—it’s a challenger already on the ballot. And to make matters worse, she’s already one of the most vulnerable Democrats in the entire country—representing a Trump district with plenty of well-funded Republicans lining up to defeat her.
Lee’s record has been defined by double-talk: she rails against government dysfunction but votes in lockstep with her party’s chaos. She claims bipartisanship but delivers partisanship. And she talks about standing up for Nevadans while shielding Democrat leadership from accountability. Voters see it. Her own party sees it. And now, they’re ready to make her pay for it.
The simple truth is that Susie Lee is out of touch, out of allies, and out of time. When even your own party is gunning for you, it’s not just Republicans pointing out your weakness—it’s your supposed friends.
“Democrat Susie Lee is out of touch, out of allies, and out of time. Even Democrats know she’s weak, and that’s why they’re coming after her. Nevadans deserve better than a politician so busy protecting her own career instead of working families,” said NRCC Spokesman Christian Martinez.
With Hutchinson in the race and Republicans with deep pockets waiting in the wings, the façade of Lee’s invincibility has crumbled. Nevada families deserve better than a self-serving career politician who can’t even keep her own team behind her.
