Democratic Senator Jacky Rosen voted against holding a Senate trial on the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. The votes to dismiss both articles of impeachment and adjourn the trial were along party lines, 51-49. The Senate dismissed the two articles of impeachment, citing the Republican-led effort as “unconstitutional.”
Senator Chuck Schumer claimed that the allegations against Mayorkas did not rise to the level of a “high crime and misdemeanor” and was therefore unconstitutional.
“Never before in the history of our republic has the Senate dismissed or tabled articles of impeachment when the impeached individual was alive and had not resigned,” Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo. “I will not assist Senator Schumer in setting our Constitution ablaze and bulldozing 200 years of precedent,” Schmitt added.
This is the first time in history the Senate has outright dismissed Articles of Impeachment when the individual was alive and had not resigned
After the vote, NRSC Spokeswoman Maggie Abboud released the following statement: “Our open southern border is a national security threat and humanitarian crisis that is overwhelming major cities and small towns across the country. Jacky Rosen just showed voters she will do nothing to hold Joe Biden and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas accountable for the disastrous border policies that caused this crisis.”
Rosen immediately took to X (formerly Twitter) and pushed the Senate’s bipartisan “border security deal.” Senate Republicans have not advanced the bill as it “it fails in every policy area needed to secure our border and would actually incentivize more illegal immigration.”
If Republicans in Congress were serious about securing our border & stopping the flow of fentanyl, they'd pass the Senate’s bipartisan border security deal.
Nevadans are tired of the political games. It's time for action.

Her Nevada Democratic colleague, Senator Catherine Cortez Masto also voted against the “frivolous” impeachment, stating that the Republican-led efforts was a “waste of time.”
There is no evidence that @SecMayorkas committed high crimes and misdemeanors, so I voted to end this waste of time.
Republicans could have made real policy changes, but they decided to play games and killed the bipartisan border package in favor of this frivolous impeachment.

Cortez Masto recently lost a Senior Advisor who was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Reno, NV. An 18 year-old involved in the accident has been arrested and detained. He entered the country illegally in March 2021 and was then released by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol into the United States.
Since President Joe Biden assumed office, his administration has released approximately 4.6 million illegal aliens into the interior of the United States which represents approximately 85 percent of those encountered, detained and released.
According to numerous reports, nearly eight million illegal aliens have entered the country since January 2021, surpassing the population of 36 states and double the population of Nevada.
The Globe reached out to GOP Senate primary candidates Army Captain Sam Brown and Dr. Jeff Gunter for comment.
Captain Brown provided the following statement in response. “This is another example of Jacky Rosen voting to put partisan politics over what’s best for Americans. Joe Biden, Jacky Rosen, and Alejandro Mayorkas refuse to protect Americans while allowing criminals and human traffickers easy access across our sovereign American border.”
Dr. Gunter, who went to high school with Mayorkas, told The Globe, “This is yet another reason why Nevada voters must say no to radical, rubber-stamp Rosen. Failed DHS Secretary Ali Mayorkas was annoying back in high school – and now he’s just flat-out dangerous. The Biden and Rosen wide-open border is a national security crisis and they must be held accountable. When I’m in the U.S. Senate and President Trump is back in the White House, we’ll secure the border on Day One, reverse the failed policies of the Biden Administration and restore safety and prosperity to the great people of Nevada.”

An “undocumented “ from Nicaragua plants a booby trap bomb in a casino parking garage, killing a romantic rival. Even though he is given life without parole, he is put in a medium security prison. He escapes and is about to get on one of those “shuttle buses”to Mexico. (Do those buses check ID?)
Of course the person who stabbed 2 people to death center Strip was an illegal from Guatemala- ( too “mentally incompetent “ to stand trial.
Just those two, 32 and 42 years old – will cost taxpayers millions. (Charles Manson lived into his 80s in prison).
You probably have to put the escapee in maximum security prison- I would think- so that is more money.
Oh well, express a concern about immigration and your a racist according to Dems
