Wall Street Susie Lee? Trump Targets Insider Trading As Lee’s $3.3M Stock Spree Resurfaces

President Donald J. Trump this week called on Congress to crack down on insider trading, arguing that lawmakers should not be allowed to profit from the very offices voters entrusted them with.
The directive was simple. If you write the rules, you do not get to trade on them. That renewed scrutiny throws a harsh light on congressional stock trading. And in Nevada, it lands squarely on Susie Lee.
Lee was identified by The New York Times as one of the members of Congress who traded stocks in industries directly impacted by committee assignments. Reports show she racked up more than $3.3 million in transactions across more than 200 trades.
Two hundred.
While inflation crushed working families. While gas prices spiked. While Nevadans stretched paychecks thinner than a Vegas poker bluff.
Lee was actively trading. The issue is not investing. It is proximity. When lawmakers oversee industries, receive briefings, shape legislation, and then trade stocks tied to those same sectors, voters start asking hard questions.
Trump’s message was blunt. Lawmakers should not profit from their positions. In Nevada’s Third Congressional District, that debate is no longer theoretical. It is personal.
“Crooked Susie Lee thinks the rules are for everyone but her. While Nevada families were tightening their belts, she was making millions in trades tied to her own committee work. That’s not public service, that’s self service,” said NRCC Spokesman Christian Martinez.
The timing is brutal for Democrats. Voter frustration over Washington privilege is rising. Poll after poll shows bipartisan anger at a political class that seems to play by a different set of rules. And here in Nevada, the trend line is unmistakable.
Registration gaps are tightening. Independent voters are drifting right. Kitchen table issues dominate. Trust in institutions is eroding. Now add congressional stock trades worth millions to the mix.
Trump has thrown down the gauntlet. Ban the practice. End the loopholes. Restore trust. If that fight moves forward, Susie Lee’s trading record will not sit quietly in the background.
It will be front and center. Nevada voters are watching.
