Roll Call, Cook Predict Nightmare for Nevada Democrats
‘Nevada sweep is possible as drag from Biden, economy continues’

A red tsunami is in the forecast for the November midterm elections as President Biden’s plummeting poll numbers and a failing economy continue to batter his Democratic colleagues in Nevada.
As a result, Roll Call has shifted three Democratic races affecting incumbent Reps. Steven Horsford, Dina Titus and Susie Lee and The Cook Political Race changed yet another congressional race from “Lean Democrat to “Toss Up.”
Roll Call reports that a “Nevada sweep is possible as drag from Biden, economy continues”:
Pervasive economic issues from inflation to high gas prices to supply chain disruptions — as well as crime — continue to dominate the conversation, and voters are poised to punish Democrats in power for the lack of progress on solutions.
The rating of all three Democratic-held seats in Nevada has shifted toward Republicans. The most vulnerable incumbent continues to be Susie Lee in the 3rd District, where 2020 state Senate nominee April Becker is getting the most buzz from Republicans. That race has changed from Lean Democratic to Tilt Democratic.
Reps. Dina Titus in Nevada’s 1st District and Steven Horsford in the 4th District are also extremely vulnerable. Republicans have competitive primaries in both seats, but Biden didn’t win them by enough in 2020 to make Democrats comfortable at all in this political environment. The rating of both races has shifted from Likely Democratic to Lean Democratic. In a GOP wave, it’s not hard to see Republicans winning all three races, giving them full control of the House delegation for the first time since the late 1990s, when Nevada only had two districts.
The Cook Political Report also moved Dina Titus’ race from “Lean Democrat” to “Toss up.” This move mirrors the publication’s prior shift of Reps. Lee and Horsford’s congressional districts. According to the Cook Political Report: “For independent voters, inflation has become such a dominant concern that neither a Supreme Court ruling on Roe v. Wade nor January 6 hearings are likely to drastically alter the midterms’ trajectory, and multiple district-level surveys show Democratic incumbents in perilous shape against unknown GOP challengers.”
In Nevada, registered Independent Voters outnumber registered Democrats and Republicans and the Democratic party in Nevada is now losing registered voters at four times the rate of Republicans. This flight is likely due to the economy, but may also be due to the Nevada Democratic party’s hard shift to the Progressive left when the Bernie Sanders Socialists overthrew the Harry Reid establishment for control of the state party.
However, Horsford, Titus and Lee haven’t abandoned the policies espoused by the Democratic Socialists of America. In fact, they are financed by them due to their unwavering support of their radical agenda.
As reported by The Globe,
A data dive into the FEC filings of vulnerable Nevada Democrats reveals financial support from far-left fringe organizations that have called for defunding the police, single-payer healthcare, gender-transitioning and puberty blockers for children, and support for the Green New Deal.
As Nevadans continue to suffer in the Biden economy, Reps. Susie Lee, Steven Horsford and Dina Titus have received thousands of dollars to ease the progressive pain caused by the latest polling data which shows independents, Hispanics and working class voters fleeing the Democrats. Fifty percent of those polled said Nevada is headed down the wrong track.
In a comment to The Globe, April Becker, candidate for CD-3, stated: “Susie Lee’s record of supporting Joe Biden’s failed agenda 100% of the time is catching up with her. Come this November we’ll retire Nancy Pelosi and Susie Lee and get our country back on track.”
